New R&D Facility

Founded over 65 years ago, Kalsec’s purpose is to unlock the potential of people, nature, and science to nourish the world. Through opening our new Savoury Product Innovation Centre of Excellence (SPICE Lab) at Wageningen University (WUR), we offer our customers tailored and timely support with an experienced savoury applications team & collaborative innovation.

Co-located at the Kalsec Spice Lab are the European Savoury Applications R&D team and members of the Global Discovery & Open Innovation team.

This new facility locates Kalsec in the heart of food innovation research and alongside emerging and leading CPG companies in the savoury space.

The SPICE lab provides easy access to Kalsec capabilities, from our trusted supply chain sourcing through to application & product expertise. Being closely located with academia, customers, and consumers, we look forward to collaborative partnerships across the food and beverage industries. 

Technical Capabilities

Upgrading our facilities increases our capabilities to serve our customers by combining scientific building blocks and formulation expertise with state-of-the-art culinary research and advanced analytical methodology, all in a single location.

Members of our global Discovery and Open Innovation team are colocated at our SPICE lab, working to develop the natural food ingredients to solve the challenges of the future.
