New Kalamazoo Facility Strengthens Quality, Efficiency, & Customer Support
Kalamazoo, Mich., July 27, 2026 – Kalsec recently celebrated the opening of its new Spice Processing Center (SPC) at its global headquarters in Kalamazoo, Michigan, marking a significant investment in the company's manufacturing capabilities and future growth.
Employees, members of Kalsec's Board of Directors, and members of the Todd family gathered to commemorate the milestone and recognize the years of planning, collaboration, and dedication that brought the project to completion.
Designed to process raw spice ingredients with industry-leading standards for safety, efficiency, and quality, the new facility expands Kalsec's production capabilities while supporting increasing global customer demand. The investment reflects Kalsec's ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality natural taste and sensory solutions while continuing to grow alongside its customers.
During the celebration, Robert Wheeler, Chief Executive Officer; Mark Baumann, Vice President of Global Manufacturing & Engineering; and Carrie Davis, Senior Engineering Manager, recognized the extraordinary teamwork behind the project. Together, Kalsec employees, engineering partners, contractors, and suppliers contributed more than 29,000 work hours to complete the facility with zero recordable injuries, a remarkable achievement that underscores Kalsec's unwavering commitment to safety.
